V-Ray – HDRI Skymaps
Posted By: Jordan ParsonsOne of the facets of rendering that has interested me was HDRI, but when I used Mental Ray in 3dsmax it was a little to complicated for me to get right. So now that I have switched to V-Ray, I decided to give it a try. I found some free HDRI skymaps here:Evermotion. With those I decided to give it a try, images after the jump.

I created a simple scene with fairly basic materials, shinny metal spheres, a brushed metal floor, and white walls. I used the physical camera to create some depth of field, as you can see in the first image which is un-edited. With the second one I increased the depth of field, added some noise and adjusted the color. I’m excited to try this for one of my projects because I think it will lead to really accurate day simulation, but I don’t know when I will get to use it, untill then its just a fun toy. If anyone has any tips or anything let me know.
